Thank you for reading our newsletter. As a timeshare
professional, I like to stay on top of the current market.
I regularly visit the web sites of many other timeshare
companies and I receive a lot of e-mails regarding
timeshare resales. The increasing number of
apparent scams alarms me. Unfortunately, there are
many unscrupulous companies that will prey on
timeshare owners who are anxious to sell. These
companies really give the timeshare business a black
eye.
I am very troubled by phrases like "We will sell or rent
your timeshare for cash! GUARANTEED!!" Clearly it is
impossible to guarantee results in any real estate
transaction. Always remember that an offer that
sounds too good to be true usually is a scam. Some
of these companies even pose as charities asking
you to donate your timeshare; of course you have to
pay an upfront fee first! Contacting any business that
guarantees results is like opening a can of worms. My
advice is to completely avoid any firm that guarantees
results or charges an upfront fee to sell your
timeshare.
There are some honest timeshare resale companies
but they are few and far between. Since 1989,
