Meet Dan Spano, the man behind the mission.
Dan Spano is a man on a mission. As the C.E.O. of Paradise Timeshare
Resale (PTR), Dan's focus is on embodying the spirit of win/win
relationships. "Actually, since I'm a broker it's win - win
- win. Buyers, sellers and the Paradise team all win." said
Spano. Paradise's mission statement reflects this win/win ideal
and is the crux of company direction, policy and procedure. Spano
lives his mission and opens every sales meeting by reviewing the
statement
"Our mission is to provide prospective purchasers with
timeshare intervals that best fit their needs while helping sellers
receive the fairest price in the shortest time possible."
Paradise team members do not miss the importance Spano puts on
the mission statement. It is more than just words that open a
meeting - it is the way of being a Paradise representative.
Spano started in the timeshare business in the late 80's with
a timeshare marketing company called Beach Front Marketing. "After
about ten years it became apparent to me that there was a real
need for timeshare owners to have a way to sell their timeshares."
recalls Spano. There was also a growing need for timeshare homeowners
associations to sell un-sold or foreclosure property in order
to reduce the financial burden of association dues. Filling these
needs became the goal that brought together the real estate "heavy
hitters" that began PTR. Dan Spano's management team includes
his wife Kathy Spano, a Top 10 timeshare real estate agent, Ed
McCarthy, a pioneer in Lake Tahoe timeshare and land development,
and Jan McCarthy, an experienced resort, hotel and homeowner association
manager.
When PTR opened it's doors in 1981, Spano did not realize his
company would one day be a leader of the timeshare resale industry.
"We are one of the few legitimate timeshare resale companies
in the U.S." says Spano. "Most charge upfront fees to
their sellers and almost never actually sell the timeshares. We
have taken an industry position that adamantly opposes upfront
fees of any kind." Spano goes on to say "We are the
largest Northern California/Lake Tahoe timeshare resale company.
I believe our company integrity and customer service are at the
heart of that success."
Spano believes in ethical and honest business practices and living
life to the fullest. His personal and professional associations
reflect those beliefs. Spano is passionate about his family, his
health, cycling and gardening. He is a recent Past President of
Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club, Past President and charter member of
the Lake Tahoe Business Referral Network, and a mentor for local
start-up business owners. "Service above self is a saying
from Rotary that I like to live by." Says Spano.
So where is Spano taking PTR next?
He reported "My goal is to develop Paradise to be the most
effective reseller of timeshares in the top 5 destination locations
in the U.S. and Mexico." Spano plans on building that development
upon the strengths that make PTR win-win-win. "No upfront
fees, huge marketing dollars, large timeshare selection, quality
sales experience, specialization in on-site resort marketing for
sold-out resorts
we love timeshare. That's what we'll build
upon."
